The YMCA building, one of the most beautiful buildings in Jerusalem, was inaugurated during the British Mandate in 1933 by General Allenby. Ever since, the complex has been used as a sports and cultural center serving the members of all three major local religions. An interesting anecdote: This building was designed by the same architect who designed the Empire State Building in New York. Throughout the complex, you can find many statues and religious symbols symbolizing peace.
